The weekly International Health Policies (IHP) newsletter is a flagship knowledge management activity of the IHP network, funded by the Belgian Directorate-General for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid (DGD)  and produced out of ITM Antwerp. The IHP network aims to “empower committed groups of global health experts based in the Global South through innovative collaborative models allowing them to have greater control on policy and implementation knowledge and its management.” One of the ways to do this is by enhancing synergies with the Emerging Voices for Global Health network – a global network of health systems and policy researchers, policy makers, activists and changemakers.

This year we invite one resident from the Emerging Voices 2024 cohort to join the IHP editorial team for a period of 3 months, in autumn 2025 (Sept-Nov). The residency will take place at ITM Antwerp and the resident will be based in Antwerp. Activities during the residency will mostly focus on IHP knowledge management & editorial activities (but the resident might also have a small EV related side project); the resident will also be invited to take part in other activities of the Health Systems & Health Policy research group at ITM.

Your contribution

The IHP/EV resident activities will include:

• The weekly compilation of global health policy, HPSR & global governance news & articles
• (Co-) Writing editorials and blogs
• The weekly listings in the newsletter
• Polishing & finetuning of IHP blogs (from other authors)
• Strengthening the EV network (including by supporting ‘constructive disruption’ from fellow EVs)

The IHP/EV resident will also attend and cover one global health event in autumn 2025 (normally, the World Health Summit in Berlin).

Applicants should:

• Be an EV alumnus from the last cohort (EV 2024)
• Have good writing skills (in English)
• Have a strong health policy & systems research background (with a general interest in global & planetary health)
• Be from the Global South (i.e. nationality from the South, and currently residing in the Global South)

Remark: we also welcome applications from EVs 2024 based in Francophone Africa, if bilingual.
